Harlington Fraser-Buchanan The evening air was still warm with the remnant heat of a brutal afternoon. The thermometer had read 86 degrees Fahrenheit, but with the humidity it had felt much warmer and stickier. Even though he had lived in Harrisbury for nearly five years, Harley was not used to the heat. The way the air made his skin feel tacky created a frustration for him that he only knew one solution to: go swimming.
Riddle walked alongside the fence of the broodmare's pasture happily, his ears pricked up and a spring in his step. He eyed the few pregnant mares that were grazing in the pasture, gave a small grunt and then turned his attention back in front of him. Harley sat comfortably on the equine's bare back, reins held loosely in one hand as the other one tugged at the mane, fingers combing through the black hair. "This heat is awful," he muttered, untangling his fingers from Riddle's mane and putting them on the reins. "Summer is awful."
They circled around the perimeter of the pasture and before long they reached the lake. At the sight of the water, a nicker sounded from Riddle. "Aye, you want to go swimming? I had hoped so." A smile came to Harley's lips and he pat the dapple's shoulder. Riddle stepped onto the sandy beach and headed straight for the water, keeping his head low and pausing at the water's edge just before taking the first few steps in. He sucked in the water eagerly, then raised his head and hoof, pawing at the water so that it splashed up on him and his rider. Harley gave a light chuckle, glad that the horse was enjoying the cool water.
"You want to go in further?" Harley gave Riddle a light nudge with his heels and the horse gladly stepped in deeper, though he paused when the water level was about half way up his barrel - or at Harley's mid thigh. Riddle stuck his nose in the water and thrust his head back and forth, flinging up droplets and eventually snorting.

--- and she's known in the darkest clubs ,. ( FOR PUSHING AHEAD OF THE DAMES ) The weather was disgusting. Even though Leah was from Virginia and should have been used to it, she wasn't. She'd found solace in the air conditioned indoor ring on her family's farm to survive the former summers. But now the indoor was being used for a lesson, and she had no choice but to brave the evening heat. Magnolia, her arabian mare, needed to be exercised and the blonde girl who had been riding her while Leah had been busy with her other two horses was nowhere to be found. At first, Leah had been annoyed. Making sure all three horses were kept in tip top competitive shape was tough work, and if there was one thing Leah wasn't used to, it was just that. But, she decided she could make a good time out of it. She had yet to go on any of the trails, and had heard that one of them led to a popular swimming spot. So, in true Leah fashion, she donned her white bikini underneath her breeches and shirt, and set off to tack Magnolia up. She was wearing her ankle boots that day instead of her paddock boots, since it was too hot to handle wearing tall ones. Opting out of the saddle for today, Leah grabbed her cross country bridle with the nearly waterproof rubber reins from her locker in the tack room and headed to the black mare's stall. Deftly, she slipped off the halter, throwing it over her shoulder, before slipping the bit into Magnolia's mouth and fastening all the straps. Leah kept the halter with her, and grabbed a leadrope as well, knowing she'd need it to tie her arabian up later. She put both in a small backpack and slung that over her shoulder as she led Magnolia outside. The mare dutifully followed her outside and stood quietly as Leah mounted her. Magnolia was only about 14.3 hands, so she was easy to slid onto bareback.
As they meandered down the trail, the summer sun beat down on the pair, even though it was evening. When the lake was in sight, Magnolia gave a high, keening whinny. "What was that for?" Leah raised a perfectly arched eyebrow as the mare did it again. She used her calves to urge the mare into a trot, sitting easily to the gait. As they drew closer to the lake, Leah saw what had gotten her mare so excited. A boy and his dapple grey horse were already splashing happily in the water. Magnolia was probably the most sociable out of her three horses, as well as the most inexperienced. When they got to the edge of the sand, Leah dismounted and began to strip off her clothes. She knew she looked good in a bikini, and wasn't afraid to hide it. Plus, she didn't want her breeches to get wet. Leah folded her clothes and put them in the backpack she'd brought along with her ankle boots, and set it down by a tree. It was a secluded area, and she highly doubted anyone would steal her little knapsack. She glanced back at the lake furtively to see if the boy was watching her. She already knew that she was beautiful, with her large hazel eyes and long wavy dark hair. But the bikini she was wearing made her looks especially good. The white was a stark contrast against her tan skin, and made her look even darker. Although she didn't have as many curves as other women, the bathing suit somehow managed to give her a more womanly shape, accentuating in all the right places. Leah flipped her hair over her head and tied it back in a loose ponytail, allowing a few strands to frame her face. She mounted Magnolia again, and urged her towards the water, about 50 feet from where the boy and his horse had entered. The mare stepped in delicately, ever the lady. She didn't say anything to her company, allowing him to come to her. She was, after all, a Foster.

While Riddle drank from the lake and bobbed his head back and forth, Harley took the opportunity to strip off his shirt. It would get wet anyway. He dunked it in the water so it would be easier to throw and chucked it back to the sandy shore. Immediately he felt the sun’s rays hot against his skin, but splashes from Riddle’s head cooled him off easily. The horse suddenly stopped and turned his head, ears flickering back toward the shore. ”What is it, Riddle?” Harley turned his head in the direction his horse was looking in, and sure enough he found the reason why: a girl and her mare. While Riddle eyed the mare, the boy found himself watching the girl as she took off her clothes to reveal a flattering white bikini.
It took a sudden jerking movement from Riddle to bring Harley’s attention back to the current situation. ”I saw you looking at that mare, Riddle. Don’t you even try to hide it from me,” he said quietly and with a laugh. As if on cue, Riddle grunted and then snorted, standing very relaxed in the water.
As the mare began to walk into the water, Riddle’s attention once again drifted over toward the female duo. Absentmindedly, Harley gave light nudges with his heels for Riddle to walk forward and he did, stepping down a small drop off and ending up unable to touch the bottom anymore. Harley held onto the black mane and reins as the horse kicked and paddled along, making a swift turn and heading for the mare and the girl. As much as Harley hadn’t wanted to approach them, he didn’t mind coming face-to-face with a pretty girl.
”Ah, I do apologize,” he said as Riddle touched the ground again, walking over to sniff noses with the mare. ”Poor Riddle can’t help that he’s a flirt. Gotta get to know all the mares, you know?”

--- and she's known in the darkest clubs ,. ( FOR PUSHING AHEAD OF THE DAMES ) Leah let Magnolia find a depth at which she was comfortable, which happened to be comfortable for her too. The mare stood about barrel deep in the water, with Leah's legs completely submerged. The lake was cool and clear, and undeniably refreshing. It was nothing compared to her pool at home, but she'd make do. It was sort of quaint anyway. Magnolia snorted happily, content to just stand and enjoy the water. Leah knew that if she'd brought either her stallion King or her gelding Q, they would have wanted to swim laps around the place, so she was happy with her decision to bring her mare. Magnolia dipped her head closer to the water's glassy surface, and started to drink. Leah tied the rubber cross country reins in a knot, laid them on the mare's neck, and stretched back, putting her hands on the mare's hindquarters and reveling in the late afternoon sun. She was surprised that Magnolia hadn't made any attempt to make her way over to the gelding and his rider, who were both splashing about to her left. But, she was even more surprised that the rider hadn't come to say hello. She glanced at the pair for what seemed like the millionth time. Somehow, while she'd been distracted with her thoughts, she'd missed the boy taking off his shirt. She let her eyes wander over his physique, and smiled privately to herself. Eye candy and horses, what more did she need?
Without warning, the dapple grey gelding plunged into deeper water, taking the boy with him. Leah watched, amused, as the two made their way closer to her and Magnolia. Since most of the boy's body was obscured by lake water, she couldn't tell if he'd steered his horse her way, or if it was the gelding's own volition. As the two touched down onto the lake's bottom next to them, Magnolia lifted her head and eyed them curiously. She'd made no move to go towards them without Leah's consent, and Leah was grateful. She sat back up, and took the knotted reins off Magnolia's neck, untangling them. When the boy spoke, she shook her head and smiled. "It's no trouble," Leah answered, secretly pleased that he'd been the one to come to her. "Well, tell Riddle that Magnolia and I don't mind," She smiled her trademark flirtatious smile. What had started out as a disgusting day was really ending up rather nice.

Harlington Fraser-Buchanan Harley watched Riddle’s ears carefully as he sniffed at the mare, but they did not make any indication that he didn’t like her. The gelding merely turned his head away, focusing attention on something in the distance briefly, then snorted and shook his head, wet mane flipping to either side of his neck. Harley let his reins loose, resting them against the withers.
”You hear that, Riddle? Neither of them mind, so…” He gave a small wave of his hand as he searched for the right word. ”Sniff away, I guess.” The boy shrugged. ”I’m Harley, by the way. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” More than a pleasure, really. The girl was beautiful, no doubt – on the outside, yes, but he still had yet to figure out her personality and such. There were many girls and boys that had a pretty face but a terrible, rotten personality. It’s only a matter of time, but I’ll figure it out as it goes on.
Keeping one hand holding a lock of black mane (force of habit), Harley cast a glance back at the shore. There was maybe one or two other people just lounging around, but other than that, they were alone. They didn’t have to worry about invading anyone else’s space. ”Are you going to go in any further?” He asked, turning to look back at the girl and picking up his reins at the same time. He turned Riddle around so that he was facing the same direction that Magnolia was, though he stuck his nose back into the water and slurped up some.

--- and she's known in the darkest clubs ,. ( FOR PUSHING AHEAD OF THE DAMES ) Magnolia sniffed the gelding eagerly, black ears twitching. The small mare loved company, and this Riddle was no exception. Leah smiled at her little arabian as she socialized. Magnolia seemed disappointed when the gelding turned his attention elsewhere, pawing the water indignantly. Leah flexed her delicate fingers on the reins, to remind the mare to mind her manners. Immediately, the mare's antics subsided. When Riddle shook out his wet mane, the water droplets landed on both Magnolia and Leah, giving the girl's tan skin a little glimmer. Leah smiled appreciatively as the boy spoke to his horse like he was talking to a close friend. She herself spoke to her horses, but not in the conversational way this boy seemed to speak to his Riddle. It was almost like he expected the horse to turn around and answer in perfect english. Maybe his horse would have that charming accent as well... He introduced himself as Harley, again in that accent, Scottish was it? Leah had vacationed in Europe plenty of times, but she didn't want to ask, in case she was wrong. Leah hated being wrong, and wouldn't risk it. "I'm Leah, Leah Foster." She told him, hazel eyes trained on him intently. "And the pleasure is all mine." She shifted her weight forward, causing Magnolia to shift as well. She could almost feel the question mark in the mare's body language, wondering what her rider would have her do next. Leah shortened her reins as Harley spoke again, a mischievous smile lighting her face as she nodded. "Of course," She replied, squeezing Magnolia into deeper water. The mare obliged, delicately picking her way across the sandy bottom of the lake. Magnolia was a small horse, standing at only a diminutive 14.3 hands, so even though the two of them weren't out that far, the water still lapped at Leah's hips, and Magnolia's withers. The sun had started to set, casting a pinkish orangeish glow over the lake and its visitors. The girl twisted her lithe body back to face Harley and Riddle. "So have you been in Harrisbury long?" She asked, shifting the reins to one hand and toying with her dark hair with the other.

Harlington Fraser-Buchanan Riddle was pleased at the mare's inquiry. He turned his ears forward and brought his muzzle out of the water to sniff at her, emitted a small nicker and then turned his head away. Harley snickered a bit at the gelding for turning away so easily from a beautiful mare, but he figured it was better than having him try to mount anything that breathed. The poor boy can't be like me. He couldn't help but laugh at his own thought, but he quickly stopped when he remembered that he wasn't alone. Well that was slightly awkward. He then gave a light chuckle, brushing the awkward moment off.
The gelding was quick to follow the mare into the water, though; he plodded carelessly after her, though passing her once she stopped and went to where only his head was out of the water and just stood there, his ears standing erect as though there was something interesting off on the distant shore. The water was up to Harley's chest, though he was already used to it so it wasn't as cold. He shifted a good bit and ended up sitting backwards on Riddle so that he was facing the girl - who was quite good looking, actually. "I 'ave, aye." He answered with a light smile and nod. "I moved 'ere when I was about fourteen, so not a wee lad." He felt Riddle shifting underneath him which caused Harley to reach down and put his hands on the horse's flank to catch his balance. "Ah, Riddle, if yer that anxious jus' start rollin'-" He rubbed the horse's rear, then turned his attention back to the girl. "How about ye? Have ye been here a while?"
